Obituary For Lloyd Craig Johnson

Lloyd “Craig” Johnson was born on April 6, 1959, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Floyd Johnson, Sr. and the late Freddie B. Jones Johnson. A proud graduate of Peabody Magnet High School’s Class of 1977, Craig went on to serve his country honorably in the United States military, a testament to his strength, discipline, and commitment.

Craig was a man who found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He had a deep love for music, especially marching bands, and enjoyed football, cooking, and most importantly, spending meaningful time with his family. Known for his warm spirit and genuine nature, he created lasting memories with those who knew and loved him.

Surrounded by the love of his family, Craig peacefully transitioned from this life at Cabrini Hospital. Though his presence will be deeply missed, his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his three daughters: Angela Morris of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Latoya Easley; and Latesha Harts (TyJuan) of Alexandria, Louisiana; seven beloved grandchildren; his father, Floyd Johnson, Sr.; and his siblings: Kent D. Johnson of Alexandria, Louisiana; Ronald (Lisa) Johnson of Melbourne, Florida; Donald Johnson, Sheila (Guy) Brooks, and Debbie (George) Gwinn, all of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his loving mother, Freddie B. Jones Johnson; his daughter, Latoya West; his grandson, Taurus Brown, Jr.; and his brothers, Lyndon Johnson and Floyd C. Johnson, Jr.

Craig’s life was one of love, resilience, and connection. He will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, and the unwavering love he had for his family.

He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
