Obituary For Charlene Joyce Chambers-Carter
On the morning of Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 11:48 AM, we mournfully bid farewell to Charlene Joyce Chambers-Carter, whose life came to a peaceful end at
West Virginia Medical Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was Born on September 16, 1983, in East Baton Rouge Parish to Pastor Charles and Ruth Chambers, Charlene's life was a true testament to faith and dedication. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized by her grandfather, the late Rev. Jonathan Chambers, in 1987 at St. Luke Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Charlene pursued a career as a registered pharmacy technician while studying to become a paralegal—reflecting her commitment to helping others.
On April 16, 2011 she married Ricky Carter, and together they created a beautiful family filled with love and joy, raising four remarkable children. Charlene embodied the spirit of Proverbs 31:10-31: "A woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." She was a virtuous woman who brought immense blessings to her husband, children, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness and warmth radiated, creating lasting connections with all she encountered.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Ricky Carter; three loving sons, Jeremiah , Dennis Carter Jr., and Ricky Carter "RJ" Jr.; and their beloved daughter, Ja'Niyya Carter. Excitingly, she was also soon to become a grandmother, a role she would have cherished. Charlene’s cherished memories will live on in her loving parents,
Pastor Charles and Ruth Chambers; her two sisters, Renata and Cha'Nasha; her two nephews, Damon Jr. and Daymond; and her six treasured nieces, Ja'Lynn, Jada
Stewart, Caylee, Caiyah, Timara, and Dariah. She leaves behind two precious great-nieces, Alynn and Aria; Godparents, Willie Cain and Lubirdia Bergeron; her father-in-law, Cleveland Cain; her mother-in-law, Belinda Taylor; and a vast network of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Charlene was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Rev. Jonathan Chambers and Thelma Chambers, along with Dorty Scott and Thelma Richardson Scott. As we reflect on her life, let us hold dear the legacy of love and compassion she leaves behind.
