Obituary For Caroline Caelizelle “CC” Smith
Caroline Caelizelle, affectionately known as “CC”, was born on September 8, 2005 in Opelousas, Louisiana to Chaneita and Darren Smith. She had an infectious smile and beautiful disposition from an early age. Everyone who met her immediately fell in love with her personality and recognized the astounding light within her.
Caroline was reared in her family church, St. Mark’s Baptist, in Plaisance, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Jason Rubin Sr. Her faithfulness in the Lord grew stronger when she moved to the Geismar community and started attending First Pilgrim Calvary Missionary Baptist Church under the tutorship of Pastor Jhontre Green. She was very fond of the sisters at bible study as well. She had plans to be baptized this coming fall.
Caroline was an honor roll student at Dutchtown High School where she participated in cross country, track, choir, and multiple clubs and activities. She was on a path to graduate early as she planned to enlist in the United States Marine Corps. She aspired to see the world and often contemplated ways to make it a better place.
There are a host of friends and family mourning her sudden departure but left with fond memories. She was recently blessed to gain a father in Reginald Day Jr. whom she adored greatly. She always had her loving mother Chaneita Smith and grandmother Carolyn Marzette who would do anything for her. She was an incredible big sister to Emmy Rose. She was also a cherished little sister to Darren and Shakera Smith. Caroline was a rare gem; a gentle soul with a soft spot for caring for animals and helping others.
On Sunday, June 19, 2022, in the morning hours with her Godsister Chloe near her side, the Lord saw fit to call those two angels home. Caroline was an amazing person and she will be missed by everyone she encountered.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of “CC’s” Life on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11:00am from First Pilgrim Calvary B.C. 11453 Highway 73, Geismar, LA. Rev. Jhontre R. Green, Pastor/Officiating. Visitation will be held at 9:00am until the commencement of services at 11:00am. Interment: First Pilgrim Calvary Cemetery #1. Final Care & Professional Services Entrusted to: Schaffer Family Funeral Home, 15990 Hwy. 77, Rosedale, LA.
