Barbara A. Hawkins, also known as “Ma” was born on February 8, 1959 to Rosalie Scott and Henry Edwards. Barbara accepted Christ at an early age. She adored and loved her family and friends. She loved cooking, spending time with family, loving her fur babies, and taking control of any given situations.

On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Barbara gained her wings and entered eternal rest. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories her son, Calvin “Peter” Hawkins, Jr.; granddaughters: Ashley, Ashontis, Shovonne, Daja; grandson, Calvin, III; sisters: Doris Northern, Mary Claiborne and Ethel Mae Overstreet; brothers: Leonard Edwards, Phillip Edwards and Raymond Braggs; a devoted friend: Pearvin “Boon” Blanchard; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Edwards, her mother, Rosalie Scott; a sister, Maude Davis; three brothers, Louis Edward, Leon Edwards, James Rattler, Jr. and Eugene Scott.
